Korean-born, New York-raised artist Romon Kimin Yang (Rostarr) arrived at Room13 on November 23 with his latest exhibition in tow. Now settled in Bali, the multi-disciplinary artist shared a bounty of his creations (both new and old) with the community of his new island home. Onto a painted gallery space (adorned by his own hand) was a layering of calligraphy, portrait, painting, projections and more.

But this wasn’t just a night of art, but a full venue takeover. Rostarr’s close friend DJ Quietstorm flew in from New York to take care of the audio department. And then there was the dude food; executive chef Daniel medical curated a special menu to reflect Rostarr’s background. Think a crispy Korean fried chicken sandwich and chunky fried onion rings.
