OH SO SLOW

On the 3rd of May 2018, The Slow, Tiki Rocket and Indosole presented their inaugural edition of Oh So Slow, a 3-day celebration of music, film and arts held in Canggu, Bali.

Drawing in an international line-up of highly regarded creatives, the festival launched with an art show at The Slow by multi-disciplinary Californian artist, Robbie Simons, which saw guests spilling onto the streets and dancing into the morning. Simons is known for his minimalist style that plays on geometry and muted colours, with a nod to simple sunny days and 1960’s euphoria.

Day 2 saw The Slow’s rooftop transformed into a cinematic setting, playing host to a carefully curated selection of short films from across the globe. Topics of philosophy, childhood, death, and family were explored through animation, humour, and fable to a full house.

The elated sounds of Allah-Las were scattered throughout the festival, taking height at the day 3 beach party.  Declared the best gig at Coachella 2017 by Rolling Stone, they drew a devoted crowd to the sands of Batu Belig. They were supported by The Slow’s in-house sound curators, Reverberation Radio, along with the psych-rock riffs of Middle East inspired Brooklyn band, Habibi.

The festival was free to public, held in partnership with Monster Children, Bali Belly, Balistarz and Keep Bali Clean, and sponsored by Corona, Nusa Canna, and Two Islands.
