Berry’s paintings are a product of process, a synthesis of experience arising from a devoted studio practice and a genuine exploration of surroundings. Melancholic interiors, personal objects and gentle landscapes work together to present a chance for a momentary encounter. Asking what does it mean to be a modern person in a modern world? Born in sydney in 1987, berry has shown in sydney and internationally and has undertaken numerous residencies across australia and europe. In 2018 he was shortlisted for the prestigious william fletcher scholarship, whilst in 2015, he was selected as a finalist in the art gallery of nsw wynne landscape prize. Notable group exhibitions include serving the people, milk studio, new york and salon des refuse.
