The expressive and varied illustrative lettering work of Gemma O’Brien dressed the walls of Room 13 at The Slow for some 2-months, launching on the 22nd of December to a zesty Christmas crowd. A designer, illustrator and artist currently based in Australia, Gemma was introduced to letterpress printing whilst studying design at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney. She now boasts a flawless portfolio of hand-painted typographic murals and works commissioned by a list of global brands including Apple, Nike, Google and The New York Times. The rousing colours and intricate details of O’Brien’s work for The Slow saw a stream of art-enthusiasts peering closely with complete admiration.
