BEN MCCREADY ‘I C U L8R’

Sailing in all the way from Berlin, Ben McCreedy showcased 10 industrial art pieces to an intimate and creative crowd in his exhibition, icul8r. Guests mulled over the minimalism portrayed through raw gyprock, stainless steel, pipings and rails; useless sculptures created in Bali to devalue the classically institutional styles of minimalism and abstraction by using similar strategies as both dadaists and pop artists. Industrial materials typically used for the fabrication of dry walls and structural frames transformed into useless art objects. The work attempted to slow down the commercial building machine, by doing nothing at all.
